OptoSoftware started in British Columbia, Canada. Our founders have spent more than 30 years in the eyewear business, and about as long writing software. The first thing we built was a fix for a problem in our own family-run eyewear store.
That fix became Optogrid. It measures pupillary distance from a photo, and opticians and eyewear retailers in many countries have used it to take more than 1 million measurements.

We build for problems we've seen in optical stores, like getting a PD from a customer who bought glasses online.
A PD that's off by a couple of millimetres can mean a remade lens, so accuracy comes first.
